Fire Damages Lynn Haven Home

News

A Lynn Haven house fire shuts down streets as crews worked to salvage the already hurricane damaged home. The fire happened on the the 800 block of Indiana Avenue in Lynn Haven just a few blocks from Sheffield Park.

Lynn Haven Fire Chief John DeLonjay said when crews arrived no one was inside and flames could be seen out the second floor window. He said about 10 firefighters managed to put out the fire in 15 minutes. The older home made it difficult for firefighters to get inside the walls but DeLonjay said they hope their quick response time helped save the home.

“With the quick response time we were able to get it knocked down very quickly and a lot of times that allows us to salvage a home,” said DeLonjay.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
