Fire completely destroys home in Marianna

News

The Jackson County Fire Department was called out to a structure fire on Pebble Hill Road in Marianna around noon Monday.

When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames.

Officials said the fire seemed to have started in the utility room of the home then continued to the main body of the house.

Firefighters were able to stop the fire before it spread to the rest of the living quarters.

The state fire marshal was called to the scene to continue the investigation and determine the exact cause of the fire.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire.

It is considered to be a total loss.

Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.
