PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — The Panama City Police Department is continuing its search for a suspect in an armed robbery Sunday night.
According to a news release, officers responded to the Dollar General at 901 Cherry Street at 8:45 p.m. The suspect entered the business after customers had left, and brandished a firearm at the clerk before leaving with an unknown amount of money.

The suspect left the area on foot and is believed to have left the Cove area on a bicycle.
PCPD stated that they realise this might have been startling for Cove area residents, but they wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the robbery.
“We always want to keep the community safe, right?” PCPD Criminal Investigations Sgt. Robert Johnson said, “That’s our main objective. But we also want to keep them informed so when something like this happens, we want to make sure that we’re putting out the information that the community needs, sometimes not to scare them, but just to give them a heads up of what we’re doing. And you know that we’re investigating a crime, especially if it’s in their neighborhood or somewhere that’s close by to where you live or work.”
Anyone with information, in this case, is asked to call the Panama City Police Department at 850-872-3100, or they can report tips anonymously via smartphone by downloading the “Panama City PD” Tip411 app.
