Congressman Neal Dunn was in Marianna Tuesday, visiting the Optimist Club to discuss the recovery of Hurricane Michael.
The congressman said he is making efforts to revisit the areas in his district that were impacted by the storm.
He wants to see how they are doing with the recovery process.
While some counties have stopped picking up debris, others, like Jackson County, still need assistance.
Congressman Dunn said it’s amazing how much debris there is still to be picked up.
“People really haven’t gotten their head around it yet, nationally how much debris we have,” said Congressman Dunn. “Nobody has ever seen this much debris from a storm in the history of America. So we have to do some new and different things.”
Congressman Dunn said, right now, he is working to get as much funding to this area as possible to help with continued clean up.
