Students from Chautauqua Learn & Serve Charter School were back in class for the first time since the hurricane.
The Panama City school had substantial damage from the storm. Their newly remodeled portable for Bay High and Chautauqua's Vista program students was destroyed. That's why Bay High has offered up classroom space to house the students. Chautauqua has about 50 students with disabilities. Many moved away but those who did return Wednesday were welcomed back with a party.
"We wanted to keep everyone today together and have a nice group counseling session, and discussions and make it feel like a party," said director Cynthia McCauley.
The party will continue for students. They still plan to go on their annual Disneyworld trip on Tuesday.
