Brother and sister charged in connection to Foxwood shooting

After an extensive investigation, Panama City Police have arrested a brother and sister in connection with a shooting at the Foxwood Apartments.

Nadarian Dawayne Brantley, 21, of Panama City is charged with Attempted Felony Murder and Discharging a Firearm in Public. Shortly after midnight March 20th, Detectives said Brantley shot Deandre Powell several times in the complex.

Police also charged Brantley’s sister Shania Brantley, 21, with Providing False Information to Police after she allegedly attempted to mislead law enforcement in a sworn statement.

This shooting marked the third one in the complex in just three months, which led Chief Scott Ervin, Sheriff Tommy Ford, and the Bay County Lead Coalition to urge unity and communication among the apartment’s residents.

Detective Jordan Hoffman said he believes that meeting helped the department solve this case.

“I think that just us being out there and showing our concern and showing that we’re willing to go out there and do our part kind of gave them that necessary step to help,” he said.

Anyone having information in this case is urged to call police (850) 872-3100 or they can report their tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers at (850) 785-TIPS.
