Fatal wreck shuts down westbound traffic at Back Beach Road and Allison Avenue

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) — A Panama City man was killed in a traffic accident at back Beach Road and Allison Avenue Tuesday morning.

Christopher T. Thomas, 29, was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry north on Allison Avenue when he “failed to yield the right of way,” for semi-truck being driven by 38-year-old Reginal Sidney of Humble, Texas, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicles crashed and Thomas died at the scene, troopers added. Sidney suffered minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.

Bay County Sheriff’s Office is working a fatal traffic accident with a road closure.

West bound lanes at West Highway 98 and Allison Ave are closed until further notice.

Please try to avoid the area until the roadway has been cleared.
