BONIFAY, Fla. - Some employees at a Holmes County doctor's office are left in the dark as state personnel raided the facility Wednesday morning.
Florida's Attorney General is investigating a Holmes County doctor for Medicaid fraud.
On Monday, a search warrant was signed by a local judge, allowing local and state law enforcement to seize medical records from the facility.
Those records being searched for included Medicaid claim forms, Medicaid patient records, financial statements, employee personnel, and any and all computers, logins and passwords and storage devices.
Wednesday morning officials with the Office of the Attorney General, Holmes County Sheriff's Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement conducted the search.
The facility is currently still open for business. When News 13 asked for a statement from employees at the facility, we were told "we don't know what's going on and we have no comment."
Whitney Ray, a spokesman for the attorney general confirmed that their office is investigating the physicians office, but they declined to comment further because of the ongoing nature of the investigation.
