According to the the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, it happened at a home off Pelican Way in Panama City Beach.
When they arrived, deputies found the victim, Jonathan Vasta, with a single stab wound to his neck.
He died after arriving at a local hospital.
According to court records, Vasta’s girlfriend, 29-year-old Tiffany Jones, confessed to the murder.
Jones added that she wasn’t trying to “stick him,’ she simply reacted.
Bay County Sheriff’s Office Investigator, Capt. Jason Daffin, said the couple had a verbal argument when Jones stabbed Vasta, but they found no evidence that she acted in self-defense.
“There was some alcohol that played a part in this night, and there was a verbal argument that occurred that night, but again, as far as any kind of abuse that night, there is no evidence to support that,” he said.
Jones is charged with an open count of murder.
She is being held in the Bay County Jail without bond.
