A man so drunk he couldn’t stand up when deputies came to question him is charged with shooting at his neighbors, according to a news release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a family at a home on Linger Longer Road in Fountain was shooting at a target behind their home when Michael Brinegar began firing at them. Deputies added that children were in the family group.
No one was injured in the shooting but deputies found bullet holes in the victim’s vehicle and home.
When deputies tried to ask Brinegar what happened, “he slurred his speech, had bloodshot eyes, and fell over in his front yard as deputies attempted to talk with him,” officials wrote.
Deputies found a loaded 9 mm pistol on a bar stool in Brinegar’s home next to several bottles of liquor. The also found were marijuana pipes, loose ammunition, and 9mm shell casings.
Brinegar was arrested and charged with firing a missile into a dwelling, criminal mischief, use of a firearm under influence of alcohol, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
