BCSO Bomb Squad Investigating Suspicious UPS Package

UPDATE: Lynn Haven Police say the situation has been resolved. Employees are back to work. Police Chief Matt Reimer says the bomb squad did take some pieces out of the package to examine further.

Lynn Haven Police and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad is on scene at the UPS Shipping store on Minnesota Ave in Lynn Haven.

Lynn Haven Police Chief Matt Reimer tells News13 a customer brought a package in to be wrapped and shipped earlier today. When the UPS employee opened the package, it had a device that lookEd suspicious. They sent a photo of the item to UPS security who later approved the item for further shipping.

Later in the day, Chief Reimer said, someone thought they heard ticking from the package and the bomb squad was called in to investigate
