Bay Medical’s New President Focuses on Improving Patient Care in New Role

Bay Medical Sacred Heart’s new president, Heath Evans, has a lot of priorities for the hospital, including getting more beds for patients.

Wednesday, Sacred Heart Health System named him as Bay Medical’s new president.

Before this promotion, Evans served as the Chief Operating Officer for the past year.

This announcement comes shortly after Ascension reached final agreement to fully acquire the hospital.

Evans began his health care career as a paramedic, and previously served in administrative positions in Georgia, central Florida and in the Panhandle.

He said his goals are getting 144 more beds available at the hospital within the next six months, and letting the community know they are open.

“The people that provide wonderful care in this hospital have been here, they’ve done wonderful things through Hurricane Michael and they are still here doing wonderful things,” Evans said. “And our services are open, we are still the only level 2 trauma center in the community. We provide comprehensive cardiac care with amazing physicians and staff to support those services.”

Labor and delivery are the only services not being offered at Bay Medical.
