A Bay County fire battalion chief was suspended with pay pending an investigation after he was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.

On May 10 Marcus Vigil allegedly shoved a woman and held her shirt to prevent her from leaving. The two had been having a verbal argument when the victim told Vigil she was going to leave so that there could be a “cooling off” period.

Vigil’s next court date is set for June.
