A Bay County Teacher, arrested earlier this month for allegedly keeping a drug house in Callaway, has resigned her position with Bay District Schools.
42 year old Kenya Williams taught first grade at Breakfast Point Academy. Superintendent Bill Husfelt told News13 that Williams has turned in her resignation papers. Husfelt said he and his staff met with Williams earlier this week and she later resigned, citing personal reasons.
Williams is facing charges of keeping a drug house. Investigators who served the search warrant on her home earlier this month, say they found drug paraphernalia and controlled substances, as well as seven people inside the home who were not residents.
When Williams was arrested, she allegedly told deputies that she uses meth everday. She was originally suspended with pay.
When News13 checked her personnel file, there were no complaints against Williams as a teacher. The records show she was a highly effective teacher, an evaluation largely based on student test scores and Principal evaluation.
