Commissioner of Agriculture and Republican candidate for Governor, Adam Putnam, is stressing the importance of vocational schools and programs.
Monday he had the chance to take an exclusive tour of the Haney Technical school campus and learn more about the programs offered.
Putnam said jobs are important to him and if elected Governor, he plans to work off the foundation Governor Rick Scott built and create higher paying jobs, the kind of jobs coming to Bay County.
He says people need to restore more respect to vocational training and take a look at the programs offered locally.
“We need to give young people a range of information about what they could earn repairing motors, building the next generation of coastguard cutter, working in aviation and aerospace, this is where they’re going to get the education that’s going to result in high paying careers,” said Republican Candidate for Governor, Adam Putnam.
Putnam said he is also focused on improving public education and investing in state infrastructure.
