LYNN HAVEN, Fla. - It was hard to be in a 'crabby' mood at the 3rd Annual Lynn Haven Hermit Crab Festival. The event kicked off at 4pm and carried on until 8:30.
Festivities included hermit crab and goldfish races, live music, and plenty of fun activities. The event was free to everyone but vendors were available with food and items to purchase. Organizers say it's a great way to bring together the community.
"I think the best part is having the kids out here honestly, the kids love it, some of them are already here they're playing in the water, then they come over here we have the hermit crab race and a goldfish race as well, a lot of things for the kids and it;'s all about having that community atmosphere for the kids," said Rodney Friend, City Commissioner.
Organizers say over one hundred people attended the festival, the biggest turn out they've had in the three years of holding the event.
