Historic St. Andrews will soon be the host to a celebration filled with food, fun, floats and music.
The 22nd annual St. Andrews Mardi Gras Parade and Festival is this week and it kicks off with the kids and pet parade on Feb. 22 at 4 p.m.
Set to start at 2 p.m. on Feb. 23 is of course the main parade.
Over 14 krewes on over 30 floats with beads, doubloons, and more will fill Beck avenue as part of the celebration.
One St. Andrews business owner highlighted his family’s excitement in attending the fun event.
“It’s fun to have the kids come out and the parade goers really cater to the kids. They throw the stuffed animals to the kids, they throw the candy to the kids as well as the beads. It’s definitely much tamer than the Saturday parade and these kids have been coming their entire life and this year it’s going to be no exception,” said Brad Stephens, Sunjammers owner.
If you can’t make it out there, be sure to tune in right here to News 13.
Our own Kelsey Peck and Chris Marchand will be live from the parade, coverage starts at 2 p.m.
