The 6th annual Chili Cook Off kicked off Sunday afternoon at Patches Pub where the community gathered to taste some of the best chili in town and give back to a good cause.
The fundraiser is held every year on the Sunday before the Super Bowl. For a small donation, people in attendance were allowed to taste and judge 20 different pots of chili.
All donations received this afternoon will be donated to The Lucky Puppy Rescue. The owner of Patches Pub says he looks forward to this event every year.
“At Patches Pub we like to do things for the community. Its one way of giving back. We have a lot of wonderful customers here at Patches and they like to give so everything we do at patches is fundraisers. All the money, we look for organizations that are based right here in Bay County. That’s just what we like to do here,” said owner of Patches Pub, Vincent Greiner.
Griener says Patches hopes to host more fundraisers throughout the year benefiting organizations such as the Warrior Beach Retreat, Sims Veterans Homes, and much more.
