It’s the season of giving, and also the season of treating yourself to delicious desserts. A Bay County girl is using her skills in the kitchen to help local kids in need.
When a hunger to help others and flour are mixed, you’ll find “Cookies for a Cause” in the oven.
“I was kinda like, I could do this,” Sayler Waldrip, the baker said.
After volunteering in fundraisers throughout past holidays, Waldrip decided to take matters into her own hands. She now sells her cookies by the tub.
“This year I wanted to do a little bit more so I started doing cookies and I started baking,” she said.
Dozens of mini masterpieces and one big heart will make local kids holiday’s a whole lot sweeter.
“I’m using the money this month to help some other kids at my school who don’t have much,” Waldrip said.
All you have to do is pick a flavor.
She offers many kinds, including peppermint white chocolate, snicker doodle, oatmeal raisin, and peanut butter.
Waldrip said she is proud knowing that kids will wake up on Christmas with more than they would have.
