PANAMA CITY, Fla. - One local museum has opened up an exhibit showcasing the history of Bay County.

The "Why We Call Florida Home" display from the Florida Humanities Council is available at the the Panama City Publishing Museum in St. Andrews until June 29th.

The exhibit explores Bay County's historic moments.

It includes the origin of Florida's state song, the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew, and how fishing techniques have developed over the years.

The museum's Executive Director, Michelle Price, tells us that you might be surprised at how much the museum has to offer.

"We would love anyone to come out and see the museum. It encompasses a lot of our history here in Panama City and Saint Andrews. There is all kinds of stuff going on and information to gather about our local histroy as well as this exhibit behind me about Florida history," said Price.

The exhibit lasts until June 29th. Visit www.facebook.com/events/375205476331142/ for details on hours and events.
