Sam Lucey was raised about 20 minutes north of Minneapolis and St. Paul in Minnesota where she developed a love for weather at an early age after severe thunderstorms and straight line winds tore through her neighborhood.
After that event, she spent countless hours watching and eventually studying weather at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.
She graduated and started her first job as a Weekend Meteorologist at KNOE in Monroe, LA where she forecasted winter weather, heavy rain events, tropical storms & hurricanes, as well as severe weather outbreaks.
Sam started at WMBB as the Weekend Meteorologist at the end of July, just 2 months before Hurricane Michael.
That day, and the days leading up to Oct. 10, reinvigorated her passion for sharing the weather and for keeping her community safe.
When she's not working you can bet she's still watching the weather and posting on social media, as well as spending lots of time with her rescue dog, Luna.
