Ross Whitley

He has always loved the weather. When he was young, his parents like to joke that they would “take away the weather channel” from him when he was in trouble. There has always been a fascination with the weather now he gets to share that with you. Ross grew up playing baseball and did so even at a high level winning a State Championship in high school. Then went on to Catawba College earning a degree in Communication and playing ball there as well. While there he won a game as a pitcher in the college world series. At the end of his playing days there was always weather. He knew he wanted to be a meteorologist from an early age. He put up the mitt and went to the University of North Carolina at Asheville where he studied and obtained an degree Atmospheric Science. His first job as an on air Meteorologist was in eastern Kentucky with Eastern Kentucky Broadcasting. He and his wife then move on to Little Rock, Arkansas where he work for The Media Gateway. While there he serve as a meteorologist for 5 stations around the US. He and his wife love the beach and are happy to be here in this community. You can catch him on the News at 5, 6, and 10 PM Monday through Friday
