Erika is a Reporter/Multi-Media Journalist for WMBB News 13. She is from Ft. Lauderdale, and graduated from the University of Miami in May 2019, double-majoring in broadcast journalism and political science.
Erika’s love for broadcast journalism started in high school, where she took TV production classes throughout all four years with Cypress Bay Television. That passion continued into college, where she reported and anchored for the University of Miami’s weekly live news and sportscasts.
Erika is a several-time award-winning journalist; In 2016, Erika won a College Television Award from the Television Academy Foundation in Los Angeles for a long-form story she covered about student athlete concussions.
When she’s not covering the news, she is probably surfing, hanging out with her dog, Lola, or cheering on the Miami Hurricanes.
