Emma Riley

Emma graduated from The University of Alabama in December 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in News Media and a minor in Creative Writing.

During her time at Alabama, Emma reported about local events, issues in the community, and human trafficking awareness. Emma interned at her news station on campus, WVUA 23, where she gained experience in Production and learned all about the newsroom and what goes on behind the scenes.

In January 2021, Emma spent four months interning at a non-profit media organization in Washington, D.C. where she learned to cover politics, write political news, and ask hard-hitting questions.

Emma loves to meet new people, experience new places, and adventure. She is excited to learn and grow at WMBB and feels so lucky to start her journalism career in such a beautiful place!

Emma has wanted to be a journalist since she was ten years old. She’s passionate about journalism and telling stories in the community.

In her spare time, She loves to run, hike, read, write, spend time outdoors, and of course watch Alabama Football. Roll tide!
