Emily graduated from Georgia Southern University in December of 2019 with a B.S. in Multimedia Journalism.
Since middle school, Emily remembers being fascinated with journalism and always had a passion for writing and connecting with others. These passions paved the way for her to choose a career in broadcast journalism.
While at Georgia Southern, Emily dove deep into her education to learn more about a career she couldn’t wait to begin. She will always be grateful for her professors who took the time to not only teach her and her classmates the physical skills of journalism, but also the intangible skills.
As a student journalist, Emily was able to report on stories about social media safety, local events, social issues, university-related news, sports and politics. She also served as the social media coordinator for Georgia Southern’s Society of Professional Journalists chapter.
While Emily loved her time in Statesboro, Georgia, she couldn’t quite shake her Florida roots and decided to return back to the Sunshine State to begin her career in journalism. Being from Orlando, Emily spent most summers on the Atlantic Coast at New Smyrna Beach but she is excited to get to call the Panhandle her new home and explore even more of Florida’s beautiful beaches.
Emily enjoys cooking, a good TV show to binge and spending time with family and friends.
