Alexia graduated from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University in May 2020, with a B.A. in Journalism and a double minor in business and psychology.
While attending Episcopal High School in Houston, Texas, Alexia fell in love with their broadcast-journalism program. She chose Mass Communication immediately as her major in university. That love for the industry grew even more throughout her four years at LSU.
Alexia worked for LSU Tiger TV student media for three years, where she gained more experience in reporting, writing, anchoring and editing. While Alexia was a senior at LSU, she was the news director, reporter and anchor for Tiger TV as well as a production assistant at WVLA (NBC) in Baton Rouge. Alexia was also awarded the Michael J. Danna TWILA Scholar award from the Manship School of Mass Communication.
Before joining News 13, she was selected to be an intern for KPRC (NBC) in Houston. Her adoration for storytelling grew, and she couldn’t get enough.
Although a southern girl at heart, Alexia was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She was happy to trade in her boots and the snow for flip-flops and the sand. She is excited to call the Panhandle her new home.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at animal shelters, going to the beach with friends, visiting family across the world and traveling to new countries.
She is excited to join the Panhandle community and to tell your stories! She can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or @AlexiaTsiroTV on Facebook and Twitter.
