Top 100 HS Baseball Showcase Held in Panama City

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - For more than a decade, some of the area's top baseball talent has come to Bay County to showcase their skills in front of college and pro scouts. For the 11th year, Gulf Coast State College hosted the Top 100 Showcase.

The best rising seniors from all over the southeast came hoping to impress those in attendance. The competition is made of talent from four regions - Pensacola, Panama City, Tallahassee, and Jacksonville. There was one professional scout and roughly twenty college scouts watching the kids and taking notes.

In the morning the kids performed in a showcase - sort of like a combine - and then, in the afternoon, hit the field for some live competition.

Being held locally on the Gulf Coast campus, the event is mutually beneficial for the coaches and players, getting to scout and recruit at home.
