SNEADS, Fla. - The Sneads High School volleyball team earned their ticket to the state final in Jacksonville! However, it was a bittersweet day. Head Coach Sheila Roberts, who has led the team to their 5th straight finals appearance, announced she will be leaving after this season.
Sneads has been a 1a powerhouse in volleyball for the past few years with the efforts of Coach Roberts at the helm of the program.
The 4-time defending state champions defeated Blountstown in the state semifinal Saturday afternoon in 3 straight sets.
"This was actually my last home game here at Sneads. I'm gonna be leaving at the end of this season. I came in early and did all my crying this morning all by myself, my husband and I here, but it is just an awesome feeling to be heading to Jacksonville again," said Roberts.
Sneads will play Union County at 1pm on Friday.
