Rutherford Alum/NFL DB Javien Elliott Gives Advice to Young Players

Many people know the story of Rutherford Alum Javien Elliott. He went from FSU Walk-on, to scholarhsip player, to undrafted rookie in the NFL, to signing with the Tampa Bay Practice Squad, to making their 53-man roster, to starting the Bucs final game of the season.

We caught up with him on Monday over the phone, and had a chance to ask him a number of questions. Throughout the summer, we will give more details into that conversation, but he began by giving advice to current high school players.

"School comes first, because if you do what you have to do in the classroom, if you want to get to college, that's what will set you up," Elliott says, "You don't want to just settle for less in life, because what you are doing now will set you up for how ever many years in your life."
