Madison County Poses Toughest Test Yet For Blountstown

On Friday, the Blounstown Tigers football team beat undefeated Baker to advance to the 1A State Championship Game.

As if needing to beat one undefeated team wasn't enough, they've got to beat another one if they want to win the title.

The Tigers will be taking on Madison County a week from Thursday.

Last year, the Cowboys lost in the semifinals to Pahokee.

This season, however, they have been absolutely dominant, beating some very good teams like 5A Wakulla, 5A Rickards, 4A Dunnellon, but one that really sticks out is the 49-6 win over FSU High – the only team that's beaten Blountstown this season.

The roster is chock full of upper class-men: 22 seniors and 15 juniors. Quarterback Tre Adams is a threat to run or pass, and running back Derrick Staten has rushed for nearly 1300 yards on 12 yards per carry.

Just last week, the Cowboys avenged their loss to Pahokee with a 28-10 win.

Which brings us to next week. The Tigers and Cowboys will face off on Thursday, December 7th, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Stay tuned in the coming days for more coverage of the 1A State Title Game.
