BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. - A week from today, the Blountstown Tigers will be in Orlando playing for all the marbles in the 1A State Championship Game.
They'll be taking on undefeated Madison County. But, as we’ve seen all season long, Blountstown is no slouch themselves.
They've been playing their best football of the year this postseason. In the first round they beat Jefferson County 49-8, and then the last two weeks they beat both Port St. Joe and formerly undefeated Baker by 20 points each.
The defense has been strong, the offense has been explosive, and the Tigers will be ready.
Coach Greg Jordan knows they have a tough task ahead of them, but he says they're not going to get out of their element and just play Blountstown football.
"They know what's at stake this week,” Coach Jordan says, “But we don't want those guys to be over-analyzing and not play fast, and do the things they've done that's got them to this point. We'll get them prepared as best we can. We'll go down and play as hard as we can play, and hopefully play a good game, and we can live with the results."
