PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Bay High Senior Rashard Lucas is committing to continue his baseball career at St. Petersburg College on a full scholarship.
He says the reason he chose the Titans was because he really likes the area, and the coaches were really sold on his talent. He says he will have a good shot at starting as a freshman.
In his Tornado career, Lucas played four years of baseball, four years of basketball, and football his senior year – being selected to All-County teams on more than one occasion.
He did all this while maintaining above a 3.0 GPA.
Lucas even received a few offers to play football, but he says in the end, his heart always really belonged to America's pastime.
"Growing up since the age of 3, I was interested in the game of baseball,” Lucas says, “The other sports were just to keep me fit for baseball. Just something to do and keep active. I ended up liking them. I was pretty good at them. But baseball was always the main goal."
