SOUTH WALTON, Fla. - During the first day of the Border Wars in South Walton, Arnold Senior Richie McClanahan notched wins number 178 and 179 of his career, making him the winningest wrestler in Bay County history.
The person he surpassed – none other than one of his wrestling coaches, Zane Turnipseed, who graduated as a Marlin in 2011 and went on to have a collegiate wrestling career of his own.
In October, McClanahan committed to Penn State to continue his wrestling career.
The Border Wars will continue on Saturday in South Walton.
