Arnold Boys Calm, Cool, & Collected Heading into the Final Four

The Arnold Marlins have won three straight overtime games in the 3A Regional Playoffs - against Choctawhatchee, Mosley, and now Ridgeview.

On Saturday, they'll face Seabreeze in the State Semifinals with a trip to the 3A Championship on the line.

The team is excited, but surprisingly calm as they approach the biggest game of their lives.

"Feels great," Coach Jonathan Hammond says, "It's never been done and these boys are just pumped. I mean, so excited. So just win this next one. Luckily we get to play at home."

Senior Jose Lopez made the final PK that got them the win in the Regional Finals.

"We're super excited right now," Lopez says, "We feel like we can get to the State Championship. The way we played last night, we're feeling good. I think we can do it."

"We huddled up right before the PKs," fellow senior Dylan Gandy adds, "You could see it in everybody's eyes. Everyone was prepared. No one was nervous. There were no nerves, no pressure. We knew what we were capable of doing, went out there and did it."

The State Semifinal begins at 7:00 on Saturday from Gavlak Stadium.
