21 Teams in 21 Days - Rutherford Rams

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - 21 teams in 21 days continues! This is the first team on our list with a new head coach - the Rutherford Rams.

It's Head Coach Loren Tillman's first season with the team. The program is familiar territory for Coach Tillman. He played for the Rams back in high school and joins the program from Wewahitchka.

Rutherford has struggled to field a team in the past. Last year, they had below 20 players, resulting in a 1 and 9 season. However, this year is proving to be different so far. Coach Tillman is anticipating about 80 players in the program altogether. There are about 35 players on the varsity squad, which includes roughly 12 seniors.

Defensively, Coach Tillman says they're small but fast and get to the ball quick.

On the other side of the ball, the offensive line brings in the most experience. Coach Tillman says they're adjusting well to changes in blocking schemes and working well together, despite not being the biggest o-line.

At quarterback, they have KD Heard and Brannon Richardson, both seniors, working at the position. Heard is getting the starting spot, but Richardson will add solid backup to the position and see minutes this season.

Coach Tillman says this reliable depth is something he wants to have across the field.

"We're gonna need to rotate guys. There's gonna be bumps. There's gonna be bruises, and we don't want that to change what we do and who we are. Not only are we trying to find starters, but we're trying to find guys that give us minutes at every single position, and we've come a long way," said Coach Tillman.
