With Irma's Path Uncertain Franklin County Declares State of Emergency

Franklin County, Fla. - Although its path is uncertain and weather experts say it won't affect even south Florida for several days Franklin County Commissioners declared a state of emergency Tuesday morning. 

In Bay County officials are urging residents to sign up for Alert Bay, http://alertbay.org/ the county's notification system for disasters. And, it seems clear there has already been a run on food, water and other supplies at local grocery stores. 

Irma, an extremely dangerous Category 5 hurricane is currently about 270 miles east of Antigua or 280 miles east south east of Barbuda. The story has maximum sustained winds of 175 miles per hour, and is moving west at 14 miles per hour.
