Tyndall Sends Jets to Texas

Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. - Tyndall Air Force Base is being conservative and relocating our high-value equipment, including aircraft, to Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base, Texas as a precaution of Hurricane Irma.

We are leaning forward, but an evacuation of all base personnel has not been ordered at this time. Continue to remain in a prepared and ready status by updating your information on AFPAAS and remaining on telephone standby for phone recall.

If the storm shifts toward Tyndall, personnel may be ordered for mandatory evacuation. Personnel living off-base should evacuate if instructed by local authorities.

In case of mandatory evacuation:
Orders and reimbursement upon return
Government Travel Card use authorized
If not issued a GTC, cash advances will be available
Evacuation distance range 100-500 miles (If unable to find accommodation in designated range, contact your unit commander for approval)

Note: Orders, reimbursement, GTC authorizations are NOT authorized unless a mandatory evacuation is declared.

Tyndall personnel and their family members should be taking the following steps:
1. Ensure you have completed all steps/precautions listed for HURCON 4
2. Continue to monitor local T.V. and radio.
3. Prepare home for hurricane
4. Update Air Force Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (AFPAAS)

If information is correct, then verify Info as current under Sponsor’s Contact Info & Sponsor’s Work Location. If information needs to updated, then click edit contact info. Confirm your username and password, so you are able to check in using the AFPAAS mobile site on your cellphone or mobile device.

5. Ensure Government travel cards are activated
6. Identify closest shelter and hotels along evacuation routes

The 325th Medical Group officials have no plans at this time to reduce patient care hours, but there are steps beneficiaries can take to be prepared medically for any contingency.

All obstetrics patients who are within three months of delivery are advised to contact their doctor and consider requesting a copy of medical records for safekeeping.

Patients who need prescriptions refilled within the next 48 hours should call the satellite pharmacy the toll free number is (800) 356-5273.
