Panama City Beach, Fla. - Two Arnold High School students were arrested in connection to a gun on school property, according to the Bay County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies received information on Sunday that a student at Arnold had posted a picture of himself on Snapchat with a firearm in his backpack while on a school bus. The student made a threat towards another student that had embarrassed him in class, officials wrote.
The student with the firearm was identified as Seth Alexander Eckman, 16, of Panama City Beach.
BCSO Criminal Investigations made contact with Eckman on Monday and he stated he purchased the firearm from another Arnold High School student, 15-year-old Jared Troy Anderson.
Investigators were able to find the firearm where Eckman had hidden it, and recover it. The firearm was identified as one reported stolen in Alabama. Eckman was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property and dealing in stolen property, both felonies.
Contact was made with Jared Troy Anderson Wednesday and he was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm on school property and sale of a firearm to a minor, both felonies. Both juveniles were booked into the Department of Juvenile Justice.
