Washington Co. - A Washington county teen taken to jail after a gun is fired during a physical altercation. The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a report alleging that a Vernon High School student fired a gun during a fight that took place this afternoon.
During the investigation, it was discovered that 18 year old Richard Parson of Chipley, passed another teen while driving on Holmes Walley Road. Parson turned around and followed the other car until they stopped on Hicks Lake Road.
Both parties left their cars, Parsons allegedly fired the gun once and a fight broke out. “This could have easily ended in devastation for everyone involved, says Sheriff Crews. “These young men could have both lost their lives over nonsense. This behavior is not going to be tolerated in Washington County.”
Parsons was arrested and booked in the Washington County Jail. He has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
