Destin, Fla. - A 17-year old Destin teen has been charged with shooting a passenger in another car at about midnight on August 21 near Airport Road and Twin Lakes Drive.
The victim, 19year old Tyjuan Lee, was struck in the head, but the bullet was removed his scalp and he survived, Okaloosa County Sheriff's deputies wrote in a news release.
Deputies added that Deveon Yawn was one of several occupants in a Jeep Wrangler and fired .38 snub nosed pistol out the Jeep window at the car Lee was in. Yawn told investigators he was just trying to scare the people in the other car and did not intend to shoot anyone.
He is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and shooting a deadly missile into a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
