PANAMA CITY, Fla. - A Bay District teacher who called some of her students 'cretins' in a social media post was reprimanded and apologized to each of her classes.
The results of the investigation into Susan Creamer, a Merritt Brown Middle School teacher, were released by the district Monday following a mandatory waiting period.
Creamer came under fire after she posted on a private Atheist group page on Facebook that some of her students were harassing her in class because of her beliefs.
In a letter placed in her file on February 16, Creamer's Principal Charlotte Marshall wrote that she was thankful Creamer chose to apologize to each of her classes.
"That was an awesome display of ownership."
Marshall goes on to point out that Creamer violated district policy with the Facebook post and that she should remember that all posts no matter the privacy setting should be considered public.
"Please remember that my door is always open to you and that your administrative team is here to support you to the best of our ability," she wrote. "We want our school to be a safe, supportive, nurturing environment for all of our students and all of our employees and we work hard towards that goal every day."
The show will be at the AMIkids building on 200 East Beach Drive.
