SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. - Lizette Flores, 16, was located in Daphne, Alabama Friday afternoon. The teen had been missing since February 28th when she and a 14-year-old friend snuck out of a house in Santa Rosa Beach and went to Pensacola with an unknown black male.
Walton County Sheriff's deputies said they are in the early stages of an ongoing investigation.
It's a feeling no parent ever wants to encounter. Rachel Payne is beside herself. More than three weeks ago-23 days to be exact, she said goodnight to her 16-year-old daughter. And hasn't seen, heard or spoken to her daughter, Lizzette Flores since.
"I just want her to come home. She is not in trouble. We love her. We all over her and I just want her to come home. I want her to be safe. I want to know especially these night that have been cold, you know, is she warm. Is she being fed," cried Rachel Payne, Mother of Lizzette Flores.
Lizette Flores, 16, was last seen at home in Santa Rosa Beach on February 28th when she and a 14-year-old friend snuck out of the house and went to Pensacola with an unknown black male. The friend has since returned home, but Flores has not. Flores has also not used her social media since early in March.
Walton County Sheriff's Office has been investigating her disappearance.
"We have not had any new information on our runaway in the last just about 19 days at this point. She has been off of social media. We believe she is in the Pensacola area. But we are asking everybody in the community to reach out and let us know if you have contact with her. It is important. She is a child and they are all at risk when you are under 18-years-old. There are a lot of bad people out there with bad intentions. So, we want to return her home to her parents," said Michael Adkinson, WCSO Sheriff.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Flores you are encouraged to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at (850)-892-8111 or you can remain anonymous by calling Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at (850) 863-TIPS.
