BAY COUNTY, Fl - The St. Joe Community Foundation makes a generous donation to the George A. Butchikas Foundation for Autism.
St. Joe Executive Director Janet Greeno presented the 20 thousand dollar check Monday night in front of the Angelo Steak Pit Bull, on Front Beach Road.
"So this was one of the grant requests that we received and because it dealt with children in Bay County to help them with their health care needs, autism, we decided this was a wonderful way to give back to the community" Greeno said.
The Butchikas Foundation was created in 1997, in honor of Camille Butchikas, who was identified as Autistic as a child. The Foundation provides funding for families that are unable to pay for intensive behavior services, needed by autistic children right here in Bay County.
The St. Joe Foundation has donated 18 million dollars since 1999, and one point three million dollars this year alone.
