ST. GEORGE ISLAND, Fla. - St. George Island saw minor damage and serious looking waterspout Tuesday as Tropical Storm Cindy moved through the Gulf of Mexico.
Franklin County Sheriff A.J. Smith said the island only saw minor damage with downed powerline, tree limbs and some structural damage during the storm.
At 1 p.m. the disturbance in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico was officially named Tropical Storm Cindy.
The storm is about 265 miles south of Morgan City, Louisiana and about 355 miles South East of Galveston, Texas.
The storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph.
