St. Andrews Residents Worried After Drive-By Shooting

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - Residents of a Saint Andrews neighborhood are worried after an apparent Christmas morning drive-by shooting.

The incident happened just before 5:30 a.m. at a home in the 18 hundred block of Clay Avenue.

Neighbors told News 13 that they heard well over two dozen gunshots in quick bursts as if they were being fired from an automatic weapon.

They said most of the shots hit 1803 Clay Avenue. They also said no one was inside at the time. Some of the gunfire also hit the home next door at 1801 Clay Avenue.

Several sources said there were people inside this home including at least one small child.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but the windows are boarded up on at least one of the homes that was hit by bullets.

Neighbors said the Panama City Police were on the scene for about four hours collecting evidence. They added that officers told them this shooting may be related to last Wednesday's murder at the Foxwood apartments.

Attempts to reach Panama City Police about this shooting were unsuccessful Monday night.
