Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. - Traffic issues throughout Walton County are a constant battle, especially in South Walton at the intersection of County Road 395 and County Road 30A. But, drivers could soon see a solution and improvements.
Walton County Commissioners received an update on the progress. County engineers are anticipating this project to take nearly three years to complete. But, they will only work during the fall and winter seasons during that time.
During the first season, most of the road work will be on County Road 395, where they will be adding a turn lane on 30A.
"The multi-use path from Canal Street to County Road 30A will be taken out but, it will be put back at the end of the season. There is not really a good opportunity to delineate a proper detour. Obviously, Canal Street and up through the side streets is a great place for people to use," said Chance Powell, Walton Co. Traffic Operations Engineer.
County officials said both roads, 395 and 30A will remain open during the construction with only minor road closures.
