You catch the big deals on Friday, but find the real treasures on Saturday.
"We've been finding some really unique gifts for Christmas," said shopper Anna Cisneros.
"Unique business and unique items, you know, you don't like to get everybody the same thing," said shopper Shannon Hernandez.
Back in 2010... American Express Credit Card Company launched the Small Business Saturday initiative.
"It's to encourage your local communities to shop small. Support the mom and pop businesses that are the back bone of our community," said Linda Lee Bell, Owner of Out of the Box Gifts.
Out of the Box Gifts is a boutique that has been in Panama City for almost a decade. Bell said she's grateful for the shoppers who have supported her store over the years..
"Panama City, we are a small coastal community and the mom and pop stores we are your friends, we are your neighbors, we are the people you go to church with and when you shop here you're supporting your friends," said Bell.
Over in Downtown Panama City, The Little Mustard Seed Store hosts multiple small business owners under one roof.
"Support all our vendors who have put a lot of time, effort and talent into what they've made and done," said Owner Rebecca Snow.
Snow also said in this community, Small Business Saturday doesn't just help the vendors.
"And to promote downtown because downtown is growing and there's new small businesses that are coming down here," added Snow.
"We like to support the little shops downtown. It's really important to keep it alive," said Williams.
Owners agree that Small Business Saturday helps to do just that.
"It's been busy we've had a lot of new people come in a lot of regular customers coming in. We've had a very good turn out so we're very pleased," said Snow.
"It means the world to us to have Panama City embrace us and support us this weekend and then all throughout the year, too." said Bell.
