CARYVILLE, Fla. - A murder investigation is underway in Washington County, following the disappearance of a local woman who hasn't been seen since Sunday night.
Law enforcement said it's a case where an argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend leads to the murder of girlfriend, 45-year-old, Deena Zimmerman.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office along with other local agencies have been investigating and searching for Zimmerman since Tuesday.
Sheriff Kevin Crews said his office received a call from one of Zimmerman's family members after she didn't show up for work Monday or Tuesday.
Zimmerman was seen early Monday morning, leaving the Graceville Correctional Institution where she was a nurse.
According to Sheriff Crews, law enforcement began searching and conducting interviews.
Authorities said Zimmerman's car was found at a condo in Panama City Beach early Thursday morning.
Law enforcement then received information that led them to a suspected grave site in Washington County.
Later investigative leads helped authorities locate two suspects, 48-year-old Sean Dowis and 49-year-old Greg Dowis of Caryville.
Law enforcement received a confession and arrested the pair.
Sean Dowis is being held in the Washingron County Jail on an open count of murder.
Greg Dowis was also booked for accessory to murder, after the fact.
Officials are still investigating three separate crime scenes at this time.
