Santa's Workshop Takes Over Science and Discovery Center

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - One Panama City museum was transformed into a holiday workshop for children Saturday afternoon.

The Science and Discovery Center of Northwest Florida hosted their Santa's Workshop event.

Children and parents were assigned their elf name and then toured the museum while enjoying hot chocolate, cookie decorating and made ornaments.

Even the jolly old man himself made an appearance.

Michelle Smith, the operations director, says this event helps spread the holiday cheer while showing the community what the museum has to offer.

"Offer an affordable event for the children, festive Christmas related that will bring the children into the museum, some of them aren't even aware that we're here.  Once they come to this event, they'll now know and they can come back and continue to support the museum going forward," said Smith.

Organizers say the event was a huge success with more than 300 people attending.
