BAY COUNTY, Fla - A Rutherford High School student bravely fighting brain cancer has succumbed to the disease.
Rutherford's principal Coy Pilson extended the school's sympathies to Mariah Andrews' family today on Twitter noting that she passed away Monday night.
You might remember Mariah from May of last year when her classmates staged a graduation ceremony for her in the lobby of Bay Medical Center as she was preparing to be transferred to another hospital in Gainesville for treatment. The students said they couldn't let her go without giving her their love, support and her diploma
Pilson says that Mariah's smile and love of life will be missed.
